Who will They Be

From the flutters I feel from inside with every sudden movement, to the nausea and headaches I get ever so often, I wonder who this little person will be. We spend our days and nights praying that they will be nurses, doctors and lawyers, and become so impatient when the Lord tells us  to "Wait and see." We see a young man sentenced to life in prison, and begin to plan the molding of our children's lives. Will our molding force them to be "successful" men and women, or will too much clay get them into stripping and drugs or to become abusive men who drink alcohol and beat their wives? So heavy is this burden we carry, we want to do right in so many ways. How hard is it to see pass a child's innocence, when that child has far outgrown their juvenile days. Yet, we were all there once, so it should be clear to see, that their is always hope in wondering who this little person will be.

  2. Perhaps it's a tactic of satan, but i feel that this world makes it unnecessarily hard to raise children to be the individuals that God intended them to be. I feel that some of the things that we accept as normal are some of the things that assist in our destruction, such as our lifestyles and media… Sometimes I think about how the serpent ran game on Eve by saying her "eyes would be opened." I think in a lot of ways, in a pursuit to know more, we are directly and indirectly exposed to "eye openers." And like Adam and Eve, we were once unknowingly "naked." However, certain "forbidden fruits" "opened our eyes," causing us to realize our "nakedness." We then covered our "nakedness", or insecurities, with "leaves," i.e., unGodly personality traits. Then, in most cases, I think we unknowingly "hid" our true identity from both God and ourselves… Or, could it be that due to our sinful natures, perhaps the "naked" feeling can't be avoided, but instead of donning man-made "leaf garments" we should clothe ourselves with God given "tunics made of skin?"… Metaphorically speaking, of course.
